Granville Island Brewing rebrands Hefeweizen

Vancouver’s Granville Island Brewing has rebranded its popular Bavarian-inspired Hefeweizen.

The brewery explained: “It’s still the same bright, crisp wheat ale that goes great with both brunch and BBQs.

“It just has a new name and look that riffs on the Sunshine Coast—which we think has the same laid-back, flavourful approach to life as our Hefe.

“If there are any historians keeping track, we’ve been brewing this same Hefeweizen since 2004, when it originally launched as Robson St. Hefeweizen. At the time, it was one of the first German wheat beers brewed by a BC brewery.

“In 2013, we changed the name to Hey Day Hefeweizen, and now it’s Sunshine Coast Hefeweizen.”
