2 Crows Brewing Launches Beer-Inspired Cocktail

2 Crows Brewing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was created by Mark and Kelly Huizink, and brewer Jeremy Taylor.  On top of their goal of getting people to think about craftsmanship, where their beer is coming from, and the various characteristics that make beer great, they’ve now added a beer-inspired by a famous cocktail to their list.  The Negroni is a cocktail-inspired barrel aged blended sour. The base of the Negroni is created by blending three different golden sour beers-one of them aged in a vermouth barrel for nine months, one in an amaro barrel and the last one ages in a gin barrel.

After blending, the beer is conditioned on a complex combination of botanicals — fresh bitter orange peel and lemon peel, dried wormwood, calamus, fennel, sage, orris root, rosemary, cinnamon, clove, thyme, marjoram, hibiscus, juniper, and coriander — all chosen to mimic the intense herbaceous, zesty, bitter, and orangey aspects of a proper Negroni.

The Negroni is now available on the 2 Crows Brewing webstore and tasting room.
