New and old from Sawdust

Ontario’s Sawdust City Brewing Company is releasing two double IPAs, according to Canadian Beer News.

Binary System 1 Hazy IIPA (8.3% ABV) is a new beer, which Sawdust describes:

“Our newest double IPA is impenetrably hazy with a rich, creamy head and bright aromas of passionfruit, guava and tropical fruit. Big, juicy hops greet you on the first sip, met next by a silky body followed by a clean, lusciously creamy finish.”

Along with Binary System, Sawdust is bringing back Twin Pines Double Dry-Hopped DIPA (9% ABV).

“You’ve tasted our Lone Pine IPA and you’ve experienced being ‘slapped across the face with a pine bough’. At first, it surprised you, then it grew on you, and before long you couldn’t wait for that truculent tree to do it again. And now, as you stand there in disbelief, you see not one but two mighty pines looming before you. Are you seeing double? Indeed, you are. Twin Pines Double Dry-Hopped DIPA is everything you love about Lone Pine but with double the pleasure. Huge mounds of hops are balanced perfectly with massive amounts of malt, making Twin Pines one dangerously delicious West-Coast DIPA.”

Located in Gravenhurst Ontario, the gateway to Muskoka, Sawdust City Brewing Company is dedicated to the art and science of creating exceptional craft beers. “We produce traditional ales and lagers in an array of styles, but there is nothing traditional about the flavour. Our brewmaster, Sam Corbeil, and his talented team create exciting beers that expand the borders of traditional flavour profiles. The rule at Sawdust City is there are no rules. We are just here to make great beer.”

Founded by Rob & Karla Engman and Sam Corbeil, Sawdust City Brewing Company first began brewing beer at the Niagara College Teaching Brewery on Halloween 2011. During that time, recipes and brands were developed and perfected. In July 2013, the former Canadian Tire building in Gravenhurst was purchased and just one year later, in July 2014, the first official beer brewed at Sawdust City Brewing Company was packaged out of the brand new tanks. Proud to call Gravenhurst home, ‘Sawdust City’ was the nickname of the town in the days when mills and lumberyards lined the shores of Lake Muskoka in Gravenhurst.

“In keeping with our Muskoka home and surroundings, many of our beers pay tribute to the history and the glory of Muskoka.”
