Old Flame Brewing Acquires Two Blokes Cider

Old Flame Brewing in Durham Region, a decade-old brewery and one of the oldest breweries in the area, has taken possession of Two Blokes Cider

“This harmonious deal symbolizes the boundless potential that occurs when passion for both product and place converge with entrepreneurial vision,” said Two Blokes co-founders Matt Somerville and Andy Paul in a statement on social media. “The Old Flame Brewing purchase will help strengthen the Two Blokes Cider brand, contribute to the area’s ongoing economic revitalization, and set the stage for exciting new projects at the Somerville farm.”

Old Flame’s original location opened its doors in  2013 in downtown Port Perry and added a second location in 2020 when the brewery took possession of the old Fire Hall in downtown Newmarket.

As part of the acquisition, Somerville and Paul will be stepping down from their executive roles  to focus on growing the orchard, develop new on-farm projects and begin “new professional and personal journeys together. “
