According to a Survey, the Most Popular Beers Consumed by Albertans are Guinness, Corona, or Bud

The research and analytics team at Casinos.com claims that Google Trends was mostly used to determine the top suds brands in the country.

Recent web research reveals that Coors Light is the beer of choice for Saskatchewan residents when they want to get a drink.

In the Land of the Living Skies, American light beer ranked first, followed by Budweiser and Corona, according to data by Casinos.com.

For those who think Saskatchewan sings a different anthem than the rest of Canada, Coors Light only achieved the top spot in this territory and only finished in the top three in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Corona was named the top beer in the North and Budweiser appeared in eight regional top threes, proving to be the most well-liked beer in the country. Guinness and Heineken each had six top three finishes.

The favourites by province, are as follows:

  • Saskatchewan – Coors Light, Budweiser, Corona
  • Alberta – Guinness, Corona, Budweiser
  • British Columbia – Kokanee, Guinness, Heineken
  • Manitoba – Budweiser, Corona, Heineken
  • New Brunswick – Moosehead, Budweiser, Heineken
  • Newfoundland and Labrador – Molson Canadian, Labatt, Coors Light
  • Northwest Territories – Guinness, Budweiser, Corona
  • Nova Scotia – Moosehead, Corona, Labatt
  • Nunavut – Corona, N/A, N/A
  • Ontario – Steam Whistle, Carling, Guinness
  • Prince Edward Island – Budweiser, Guinness, Corona
  • Quebec – La Fin Du Monde, Heineken, Budweiser

Even if the news is upbeat, the study is anything from cheery. Casinos.com claims that its research and analytics team mostly used Google Trends to determine the top suds brands in the country. They used information gathered from the 12 most well-known Canadian brands between August 2, 2022, and August 3, 2023.

A news release said that, “in the event that a province had equal levels of interest for multiple beers, search volumes for each item using Semrush were measured, along with Google Trends interest specific to those queries in that area, to determine a favourite.”
