An Okanagan Microbrewery Finds a New Location

After losing their premises earlier this year, a locally owned Okanagan brewery has found a new home in Penticton.

In the oldest craft brewery in Penticton, Tin Whistle Brewing, a new brewery called Counterflow Brewing has debuted. Home brewers in the Okanagan region launched Counterflow, which went on to become a popular brand at Bad Tattoo Brewing.

But Bad Tattoo stopped doing business in 2023, selling both its main site in Penticton and its branch in Kelowna, leaving Counterflow on hold.

Now that Counterflow has returned, the Tin Whistle staff is overjoyed to see their Paradigm Shift Pink Guava beer rolling off the lines.

“When we purchased Tin Whistle Brewing in the fall of 2020 we committed to respecting the history of the brewery while driving it forward in innovation of the beer and art,” said Tim Scoon, co-owner of Tin Whistle.

“Counterflow’s origin story of passionate beer lovers being driven to develop creative beers with differentiated art by Liz Ranney definitely made it a natural fit for the Tin Whistle family.”

Tin Whistle offers Paradigm Shift on tap and in cans, and a rising number of pubs and restaurants in Penticton and Kelowna are also serving it on draught.
