Guelph.Beer Bus Receives Provincial Tourism Recognition

The Ontario Tourism Summit’s Culinary Tourism Event of the Year award went to the Guelph.Beer Bus.

Since 2019, the bus has operated. The bus transports guests to five breweries and brew halls across the city at various times during the year at no cost.

Beer tourism supports over $211 million in economic activity in Ontario each year and Guelph’s breweries have shown that by working together they can make an impact.

“From quaint brewpubs and regional breweries, to brands with national distribution, we represent the full spectrum of what the business of beer can be,” Colton Proveau, the owner and partner at Brothers Brewing Company, said in a news release. “Guelph.Beer is about harnessing that diversity and working together as an industry.”

“People love the Guelph.Beer Bus because it’s a free, inclusive, and fun way to discover your new favourite brewery” says Cam Fryer, Owner of Royal City Brewing

“As the hospitality and brewing industry have faced headwinds coming out of the pandemic, projects like the Guelph.Beer Bus have provided a unique opportunity to connect with beer drinkers” says Brad McInerney, Marketing Director at Wellington Brewery

“We know that Guelph is an amazing place to visit and explore and now all of Ontario will know as well” says Damien Smith, Retail Store and Taproom Supervisor at Sleeman Breweries

The beer bus will run for two more days in 2023 and then again in the spring of 2024.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, the beer bus will depart once again.
