White Claw coming for you

Hard seltzer is going to hurt the Canadian beer industry, according to an article in The Cochrane Times-Post.

The beverage is owned by the Mark Anthony Group and its creator, Anthony von Mendl, is from Vancouver.

“This whole thing is an absolute dream,” von Mandl told CTV. “This is a disruption very similar to what happened in the coffee business in 1994, when Howard Shultz launched Starbucks.”

While there debatable craft involved with White Claw compared with brewing beer – no meticulous selection of hop varieties, no malt profile, no water analysis – its impact on the US craft and big beer industry in not open for debate.
